Blue Yount’s father, Robert Gene Yount, wrote the song “Please
Release Me”. This song has been recorded by hundreds of artists,
among them, Elvis Presley, Dean Martin, Wille Nelson and Dolly Parton.
It was a million selling #1 hit for Englebert Humperdinck. Now considered
a standard, It is listed in BMI’s top 50 recorded songs of
all time.
The
best man at Norman Landsberg’s parents wedding was none other
than Lou Teicher. Name sound familiar? He later became one half
of the great piano duo Ferrante & Teicher.
Norman
was the original pianist / arranger for the Pointer Sisters.
A much younger Bob appeared in the popular T.V. series “Quincy”
and “The Beverly Hillbillies”.
Norman
was once a Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
Bob
holds a degree in Mortuary Science and is a licensed Embalmer and
Funeral Director.
Landsberg
& Yount were one of the first pianists ask to participate in the prestigious
Yamaha Concert and Artists Program. They exclusively play Yamaha
Pianos in all appearances. Others on the roster are Chick Corea,
Norah Jones and Elton John.
