Dizzy
Fingers |
“Dizzy Fingers” offers a well paced variety of selections,
featuring technical brilliance and sensitivity of taste and touch,
typically found at a Landsberg & Yount concert. “It Ain’t Necessarily So”, always an audience
favorite, is fast paced and rapid fire. The delightful “Kitten
On The Keys” and “Dizzy Fingers” offer the exciting
“drill team” precision for which L&Y are known.
“Phantom Of The Fugue” suspiciously sounds like Andrew
Lloyd Webber arranged by Johann Sebastian Bach. And to boldly go
where no pianists have gone before, the dynamic duo offer up the
television theme to “Star Trek” ....as a samba! For
a typical L&Y change of pace, the majestic “Slaughter
On Tenth Avenue” and the hauntingly beautiful, Clair de Lune. You’ll find it easy to imagine yourself in the same concert

Gershwin |
To honor the 100 anniversary of George Gershwin’s birth, Landsberg
& Yount offer their most ambitious recording project to date.
“George Gershwin - Then & Now” allows the listener
to enjoy the ghost of George Gershwin joining in and “jamming”
with L&Y. Gershwin, and Landsberg & Yount are intricately
woven together for the first four selections of this album. “That
Certain Feeling” and “Swanee” reveal the virtuosity
of Gershwin, with L&Y offering up some contemporary solos.
The three “Preludes” is one of the the few existing
two piano arrangements of these solo concert gems. The stunning
conclusion, 18 virtuoso “etude” arrangements of Gershwin’s
personal favorites including, “I Got Rhythm”, “Fascinating
Rhythm”, “The Man I Love”, “Strike Up The
Band”, and “Liza”, arranged by the composer himself
and expanded for two pianos by Landsberg & Yount. For
Gershwin fans and piano-mavens everywhere, this album is, ‘S

Sleigh
Ride |
*From their best selling album, “Sleigh Ride”, Landsberg
& Yount deck the halls with their trademark fresh and innovative
treatments of holiday classics. Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh
Ride” is a jazz and big band blast. Only L&Y would speculate
what “The Little Drummer Boy” would sound like if Maurice
Ravel had composed it. From “A Charlie Brown Christmas”,
Vince Guaraldi’s, “Christmas Time Is Here” (with
a little help from Eric Satie.) In typical L&Y tongue &
cheek fashion, the whimsical “We Three Kings Of Scarborough
Fair” would even get a smile out of Scrooge himself. Landsberg & Yount are in top form on this delightful holiday
album that could easily become your winter favorite! |
